What is a Bot?
A Bot is a helpful tool that lives inside Shout. It watches your incoming messages and takes over a conversation when it recognizes a trigger word. Bots handle the essential back-and-forth of a conversation so you can focus on the bigger picture.
Bots can do lots.
Bots can collect contact information for you, such as name, email, phone number, address and birthday. They can sort contacts by tag, group, or channel to keep you organized, and assign topics to conversations. Mute contacts as they go through a long series of messages so you won't be interrupted, or let a bot mark a conversation "done" for you. Use multiple choice questions to run other bots, automating even more of your process.
Collect your contact's information and let them know you have a new business phone number. This Bot will notify your contact that they can reach you at any time with this number, plus save their information and add them to the "New Contact" group. This is a great bot to share everywhere, including your social media profiles or business card.
This Bot is the right Order Bot to use for when a customer knows exactly what they want to purchase. Once a customer messages in and their contact information is saved, the Bot can then also gather the product(s) they would like to order, or link them to your website so that they can browse products. Once they message in their order, you'll have everything you need to send them an invoice!
This Order Bot is more sophisticated, and great for presenting your customer with options when they aren't yet sure what they want to order. Edit and Activate the Bot below and you are ready for your customers to text into your Customer Service or Marketing number, or your Facebook business page.
The Vendor Bot can saves contact information easily from all the people you meet at your events, and informs them about your business! Include digital catalogs or other useful info to convert casual contacts into customers. Use the same Vendor Bot for each event and update the trigger word according to the specific show, or make several copies if you have multiple shows at once.
Everyone who signs up for a giveaway is an interested potential customer. After a customer has texted in, your Bot automatically adds them into a Giveaway group. Once your giveaway is closed, use this list to select a winner. Offer a consolation discount to everyone who participated by sending just one message to the entire group. Delete the contacts from the group once your Giveaway is done and reuse the same Bot for your next promotion!
Contacts opt into a VIP group, making it easy for you to notify them with deals, promotions, and sales. Your contacts can also message into the included VIP Stop Bot to automatically remove themselves from your VIP group.
Edit the Bot to fit your business, and start notifying your customers that they can text the trigger word VIP to your Customer Service or Marketing number to join your VIP group.
